So, I strolled into Orange Julius at 1485 Portage Ave, in Winnipeg. A spot known for ice cream, or at least it was. Sadly, it seems this place has closed its doors for good. Weird, right? I mean, the reviews were a mixed bag — a total of 56 opinions floating around, and they rated it a 3.3 out of 5. Not exactly a glowing achievement.
People seemed to love the idea of a quick treat, especially ice cream cakes. I could totally relate to someone treating themselves after a trip away. What’s better than a Choco Brownie Extreme on a vacation? But, I guess, not everyone had the same luck. There were some complaints about staff being unhelpful, and that’s just a bummer when you’re craving something sweet. I mean, really, who wants to argue over how much fudge goes on a blizzard?
Some folks had good experiences with their smoothies and sundaes, which hints at some redeeming qualities tucked away in there. The atmosphere was described as casual and family-friendly, making it sound like a nice pit stop for families or solo diners looking for a quick bite.
You could even nab a takeout — perfect if you’re on the go. And who wouldn’t want Wi-Fi access while digging into a soft-serve cone? Just a shame that whatever charm Orange Julius had is now just a memory. Always a risk with these food joints, you know?
